Xuan VandeBerg Harris is the first in her family as a Vietnamese-American to attend college and graduate in the United States. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering from DeVry University, a honor graduate from ITT Technical Institute with an Associate of Applied Science in Computer and Electronics Engineering and minor studies in Quality Control Engineering. Her vast engineering experiences have led her in careers fields including biomedical engineering, commercial printing (lithography and flexography) and drilling and exploration in the oil and gas industry.

Mrs. Harris is an advocate STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) volunteer and an active board member for non-profit engineering communities including the Society of Women Engineers Houston Area (SWE-HA), the Society of Petroleum Engineers Gulf Coast (SPE GCS) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE) Student Section at DeVry University of Houston.
