Failure Analysis Engineer in our Houston, Texas location.
Job Description:
-
Plans and executes
failure analysis on electronic assemblies, product repair and testing;
-
Responsible for
identifying physical mechanisms that cause product quality and/or
reliability failures;
-
Able to perform root
cause failure analysis of electrical components and materials in
addition to being responsible for root cause failure analysis
investigations and reporting;
-
Analyzes any and all
available information to determine when processes and/or products are
not performing to specifications and/or expectations;
-
Will work with
suppliers and engineers to resolve workmanship, material and process
issues, implement corrective actions and write comprehensive root cause
failure analysis reports;
-
Responds to product
returns by failure analysis, reporting and corrective action
recommendations;
-
Develops and maintains
quality information systems for analysis of material quality and
component analysis reports and charts as necessary to communicate
product and/or process performance;
-
Develops and
implements new failure analysis methods;
-
Recommends process
and/or design improvements to prevent reoccurrence of failures;
-
Facilitates Material
Review Board (MRB) as required to assure objectives are met;

Active participation
in the company’s quality program and compliance to ISO 9000:2000
Qualifications:
-
B.S. degree in
Electrical, Industrial , Mechanical Engineering discipline or
equivalent;
-
Minimum two to five
years engineering experience in failure analysis within a computer
manufacturing or quality control inspection environment;
-
Working knowledge of
statistical process control and experimental design concepts
-
General understanding
of basic electronics and computer science
-
Efficient computer
skills (MS Word, Power Point, Excel);
-
The ability to manage
time and priorities effectively;
-
Self-motivated, team
player, able to pro-actively communicate with other departments
-
Capable of handling
multiple projects and meeting deadlines
-
The ability to
effectively extract, analyze, and report data as necessary and to
demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills;

Works well in a fast
paced environment with capability to interface throughout all levels and
functions of the organization as a team player with little or no

Excellent knowledge of
tools and methods related to inspection and analysis of component and

Qualifications

hydraulics modeling software is preferred. Certified Flood Plain Manager, or the

field surveying experience, and six months of construction inspection.
